Rick Bannerot art on AreaArtist.com
 |
Kids Will Be Kids by Rick Bannerot |
Stamford photographer Rick Bannerot is the newest artist to join AreaArtist.com. After submitting work for review, Bannerot was invited to join the site and have his work shown among the work of other local artists. Bannerot’s work will be shown in several categories on the site, including landscapes, portrait/figure and photography.
Bannerot studied photography at Yale University with Richard Benson. Now whenever he travels the world for business, vacation or a fly-fishing excursion, his camera is always with him. After his third trip to India, he self-published a book of his photographs, "Facets of India".
AreaArtist.com creator, Peg Benison, commented on Bannerot’s work, “Rick’s use of color is what really makes his work stand apart from the rest. Whether the photo depicts a street vendor in Mumbai or a child playing in the rain, it is the colors he captures that draws the viewer into the photo.”
AreaArtist.com is designed to help the many artists in Fairfield and Westchester Counties receive the recognition their work deserves. The site provides samples of artists work, information about the artists and listings of their shows. After being accepted by the AreaArtist.com jury, artists can show their work and list their upcoming shows on the web site. They can also find out about art organizations and upcoming opportunities for artists. New artists are being added regularly. The site currently displays work form artists in Darien, Greenwich, Norwalk, Riverside, Rowayton, Sherman, Stamford and Stratford, CT and White Plains, NY.
AreaArtist.com is unique because it concentrates on local artists and local arts venues. Collectors and those interested in the arts use the site to locate artists and preview their work, then find out where their work is showing, increasing the traffic to local venues, area arts organizations and gallery spaces. They can also contact the artist directly and arrange a studio visit to commission a piece or to see the actual artwork before purchasing.
